Preserve Life Campaign

Why We’re Doing This

The cost of real security has become unacceptably high.

Most consulting firms prioritize profit over protection, and cybersecurity service providers rarely understand how to secure a physical space. The industry obsesses over ransomware while ignoring the far greater threat: a gunman walking through an unsecured entrance, climbing onto a roof, or opening fire through a window.

At Mayweather Group, we refuse to accept that. The Preserve Life Campaign brings highly trained operators, not auditors, to the ground where lives are on the line. Our mission is simple: find the gaps before someone dies because of them.

The Reality We Face

K-12 Schools

  • Since 2018, there have been over 230 shootings on K-12 school grounds, resulting in more than 100 deaths and hundreds of injuries (Source: Education Week School Shootings Tracker, 2018–2024)
  • In 2025 alone, there have been at least 118 incidents of gunfire on school grounds, resulting in 36 deaths and 108 wounded in the United States (Source: Everytown Research, 2025)
  • Each incident leaves a permanent scar on families, staff, and entire communities

Higher Education

  • From 2000 to 2022, 75 people were killed and 82 wounded in active shooter incidents on U.S. college campuses (Source: FBI Active Shooter Incidents Report, 2022)
  • There have been over 385 incidents of gunfire on college grounds since 2013, resulting in more than 100 deaths and 260 injuries (Source: Everytown Research – Gunfire on College Campuses, 2023)
  • College students report a growing sense of fear and vulnerability as violence on campuses continues to rise (Source: Journal of American College Health, 2023)

Faith-Based Organizations

  • Between 2012 and 2022, there were 59 violent attacks on U.S. houses of worship, resulting in 79 deaths and 83 injuries (Source: Center for Strategic and International Studies, Faith-Based Violence Report, 2023)
  • Firearms were used in 40 percent of these attacks, accounting for 94 percent of fatalities (Source: CSIS Analysis, “Protecting Houses of Worship,” 2023)
  • Major incidents such as Sutherland Springs (2017), Pittsburgh (2018), and Charleston (2015) highlight the devastating impact of targeted violence against congregations (Source: Washington Post and FBI Incident Archives)

Small Businesses and Workplaces

  • Roughly one-third of small businesses have experienced a serious workplace violence incident or credible threat (Source: Society for Human Resource Management, Workplace Violence Study, 2022)
  • In 2022, 28 percent of all FBI-designated active shooter incidents occurred in commercial settings (Source: FBI Active Shooter Incidents Report, 2022)
  • On average, there are 1.3 million acts of workplace violence each year, and shootings remain the leading cause of workplace homicides (Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics, Workplace Violence Data 2015–2019)

The Overlooked Connection: Physical Access and Cyber Risk

Violence is not the only threat that begins with a door left open. Many digital breaches start with physical intrusion or insider misuse.

Critical Vulnerabilities

  • Tailgating and Unauthorized Entry: Nearly half of all organizations have experienced a tailgating event. Once inside, an attacker can connect to internal systems or plant rogue devices
  • Insider Threats and Stolen Credentials: About 95 percent of data breaches involve human factors such as password sharing, stolen badges, or insider abuse
  • Device Theft: Roughly 15 percent of all breaches stem from stolen or lost hardware. A laptop is stolen every 53 seconds on average
  • NASA JPL Example: Attackers once gained access to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory network through an unauthorized Raspberry Pi connected inside the facility, stealing 500 MB of mission data

The evidence is clear. Physical and digital security cannot be separated. A single lapse in access control can lead to loss of life, loss of trust, or loss of data.

Help Us Protect More Schools and Churches Across Florida

Our mission is to service as many schools and churches as possible through 2026 — but we can only go as far as community support will take us.

The number of facilities we can protect depends entirely on sponsors, donors, and partners who share our commitment to safeguarding Florida’s most vulnerable spaces. Whether you’re a business owner, concerned citizen, or organization that believes every classroom and congregation deserves real security, your support directly translates into lives protected.

Ways to Support

  • Become a Sponsor - Purchase a security assessment for your organization and fund free assessments for schools and churches
  • Direct Donation - Contribute directly to fund assessments at schools and faith-based organizations in need
  • Corporate Partnership - Partner with us to protect multiple facilities across Florida
  • Community Investment - Rally your community, business network, or congregation to collectively fund local assessments

Every dollar goes directly toward professional security assessments conducted by elite U.S. Special Operations Veterans. The more support we receive, the more schools and churches we can protect.

The stakes are too high. The time is now.
